About the Role
The Senior Enterprise Application Developer is a senior technical leader within the Enterprise Collaboration Applications team, responsible for architecting, automating, and evolving critical enterprise platforms used across the organization.
This role moves beyond traditional application administration. It focuses on building scalable, secure, and well-governed platforms through automation, configuration-as-code, and system integrations. This role enables a shift-left operating model by designing guardrails, self-service capabilities, and delegated administration frameworks that empower business stakeholders while maintaining centralized governance and compliance.
You will serve as the technical authority for assigned platforms, driving architecture decisions, automation strategy, and long-term platform roadmaps to ensure operational excellence and business alignment.

Serve as the technical owner and platform authority for enterprise collaboration applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, Zoom, etc.)Architect and develop Python-based automation for provisioning, governance, reporting, integrations, and lifecycle managementImplement and maintain configuration-as-code and policy-as-code frameworks for application settings and controlsDesign scalable guardrails that enable delegated or federated administration while preserving enterprise governanceBuild and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, SDKs, and event-driven workflowsDefine and enforce enterprise standards, security controls, and operational best practices for collaboration platformsOwn application roadmaps, feature evaluations, usage analytics, capacity planning, and lifecycle strategyPartner with Security, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to embed regulatory and data-protection controls into platform designLead large-scale migrations, consolidations, and platform modernization initiativesDrive buy vs. build decisions, including evaluation of SaaS, third-party, and GenAI-enabled capabilitiesEstablish observability, monitoring, and operational readiness frameworksLead incident response, root cause analysis, and systemic remediation for platform issuesManage vendor relationships, roadmap alignment, escalations, and executive-level engagementsCreate and maintain architectural documentation, automation standards, and operational runbooksMentor engineers and administrators in automation-first and platform engineering best practicesBasic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field6+ years of experience managing and engineering enterprise-critical SaaS platformsStrong hands-on Python development experience (required)Experience working with REST APIs, OAuth, service accounts, and webhooksStrong understanding of enterprise SaaS governance, identity models, access lifecycle management, and security controlsAbility to operate cross-functionally with Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and business stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications
Experience administering enterprise collaboration platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft 365, etc.)Experience implementing configuration-as-code or infrastructure-as-code principles (e.g., Terraform or custom frameworks)Experience designing delegated administration or federated governance modelsExperience evaluating and operationalizing Generative AI capabilities within enterprise SaaS platformsKnowledge of identity, access management (IAM), SSO, SCIM provisioning, and role-based access control frameworksExperience operating in large, complex enterprise environments with tier-0/1 systemsStrong documentation, communication, and stakeholder leadership skillsFor San Francisco, CA-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $180,000 per year - USD $200,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $180,000 per year - USD $200,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
