Overview
This role is designed as onsite with an expectation to primarily work from an HPE office. The position requires being on-site in Sunnyvale 2+ days a week.

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Validates and ensures strong quality of the software and ensures regression by developing optimally designed scripts.
What You’ll Do- Understand the newly designed features and discuss with the development and PLM teams for clarification.
- Develop, review and execute test plans within predefined timelines.
- File Jira tickets on failed test cases and bugs, reproduce issues with developers, and validate fixes for closure.
- Suggest product enhancements to improve the product.
- Analyze logs and pinpoint root causes for issues seen during validation.
- Join related QA meetings, participate in discussions, and provide status updates.
- Reproduce and support any POC/customer issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and assist in code reviews.
- Provide TOIs to the team on features validated and address queries in the areas of expertise.
- 6+ years of experience as a test engineer with specialized experience in protocols and tools.
- Knowledge of L3 (Layer
3) protocols with at least 4 years of experience. - Experience with more than one L3 layer and services: OSPF, ISIS, BGP; MPLS, LDP, RSVP, L3
VPN, L2
VPN, Segment Routing. - Experience with traffic generation tools Spirent or IXIA.
- Strong coding skills, preferably Python and Robot; fundamentals of Python, data structures, and automation scripts for validation.
- Experience reviewing logs and troubleshooting using logs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics/Computer Science engineering, or equivalent work experience substituted for a degree.
- Knowledge of more than one L2 layer technologies and traffic generators (e.g., VLAN, DHCP, STP, VXLAN).
- Exposure to agile methodologies and JIRA.
- API and UI-based testing experience is a plus.
- Networking certifications from Juniper/Cisco are a strong plus.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and related technologies.
