Security Engineer III
Driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
- 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with vulnerability management or exploiting vulnerabilities.
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
AutoVM stands for Automated Vulnerability Management. We are a mix of Software Engineers and Security Engineers that operate synergistically on complex efforts. The organization has a healthy mix of exciting new efforts and long running highly impactful programs. We are on the critical path of many risk reduction efforts and work vertically across the stack as well as horizontally across the company for workloads/assets in Cloud, Prod, Off-Google, Delivered Software, Corp, etc.
We leverage AI effectively to optimize our efforts and scanners, but we also do vulnerability management for AI with dedicated scanners and technology.
The role offers plenty of executive stakeholder engagement across many product areas, and a significant set of unsolved technical challenges across the cybersecurity industry. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $147000 - $211000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
