The Customer Decision Science team at Walmart analyzes every store trip, web and app visit, service interaction, search, click, purchase and survey response to help deliver the easiest shopping experience digitally and physically.
We are a team of decision science practitioners who work together to uncover the why behind the customer behavior while measuring the outcomes from a customer and competitive lens. As a Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics in the team, you will have the unique opportunity to leverage the power of technology, big data and analytics to improve the lives of the 100M+ households that shop at Walmart every year.
You will be responsible for driving Walmart's High Value Habits initiatives by identifying the primary accelerators and decelerators of customer loyalty, translating these findings into actionable insights that directly inform high-level business strategy.

* Advanced Analytics Expertise:
You excel at framing ambiguous business questions, developing rigorous analytical approaches, and delivering insights that influence key decisions. You have deep experience building customer-centric metrics, measurement frameworks, and scalable analytics solutions using tools like SQL and Python.
* Ownership and Bias for Action:
You proactively identify opportunities, define data requirements, and drive work forward with minimal oversight. You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, navigating data gaps and technical constraints, and finding practical paths to deliver results.
* Program and Stakeholder Leadership:
You lead complex initiatives end-to-end, balancing multiple priorities while partnering across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Strategy teams. You align stakeholders, establish clear expectations, and drive execution against business objectives.
* Business and Customer Acumen:
You connect analytics to business strategy and customer behavior. You translate insights into recommendations that improve customer engagement, retention, loyalty, and overall business performance.
* Executive Communication and Storytelling:
You communicate complex analytical concepts with clarity and influence. You tailor your communication to different audiences, translating business challenges into analytical approaches and executive-ready narratives that drive action.
* Data Visualization and Insight Generation:
You leverage data visualization and analytical storytelling to simplify complexity and uncover actionable insights that support decision-making.
* People Leadership and Talent Development:
You mentor and develop analysts, foster analytical excellence, and promote best practices across the organization. You can influence decision making across peers and managers by supporting your point of view with data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
* Lead and execute advanced analytics initiatives supporting Walmart's customer growth, loyalty, retention, and engagement strategies.
* Identify opportunities for business impact through customer and behavioral data analysis, translating findings into a prioritized analytics roadmap.
* Develop and maintain customer KPIs, measurement frameworks, and success metrics to evaluate business performance and customer outcomes.
* Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Strategy, and Finance teams to embed analytics into product development and business decision-making.
* Drive analytical rigor across experimentation, customer measurement, and strategic business analyses.
* Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing strategy and fostering a customer-centric, data-driven culture.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field with 3-5+ years of experience in Data Science/Analytics; OR a Master's degree with 2-3+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
* Advanced SQL proficiency (Big Query, Hive, Snowflake, or equivalent) and strong Python skills for data analysis, automation, statistical modeling, and scalable analytics solutions.
* Experience developing customer, product, and business performance metrics using large-scale transactional, behavioral, or clickstream datasets.
* Strong knowledge of experimentation, causal inference, and observational analytical methodologies.
* Demonstrated success leading multiple high-impact projects in fast-paced environments with minimal oversight.
