What You’ll Do:

The Hardware Quality team within Supply Chain is building the systems, governance, and cross-functional processes needed to support product lifecycle management s role partners closely with Supply Chain Transformation, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT to help design and implement a new PLM foundation for the organization.

About the role:

Core Weave is seeking an experienced PLM Architect to co‑lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system across the organization. This is a high‑visibility, greenfield role for someone who thrives on implementing systems from the ground up rather than maintaining what already exists.

You will partner with Supply Chain Transformation, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT stakeholders to define the target‑state PLM architecture, translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, guide the platform from initial design through go‑live and stabilization, integrate with existing and upcoming enterprise systems, and enforce strict data governance. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in PLM platforms, strong architectural judgment, and the communication skills to align technical decisions with business strategy.

In this role, you will:

  • Co‑lead end‑to‑end architecture and design for a new enterprise PLM system, including data model, workflow, integration, and security architecture.
  • Partner with business stakeholders across Transformation, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to gather requirements and translate them into a scalable, future‑proof PLM architecture.
  • Partner with IT to define requirements and oversee integrations between the PLM system and adjacent enterprise platforms, including ERP, MES, CAD/CAM, and QMS.
  • Establish data governance standards, including item and part numbering schemes, BOM structures, change management workflows, and revision control practices.
  • Lead technical design reviews and ensure architectural decisions align with long‑term scalability, performance, and maintainability goals.
  • Guide data migration strategy and validation from legacy systems into the new platform.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization and automation across the product lifecycle.
  • Define and enforce PLM system standards, governance policies, and documentation practices.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point during implementation, troubleshooting complex architectural or integration issues.
  • Mentor junior architects, analysts, and administrators on PLM best practices.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working with PLM systems, including at least 5+ years in an architect or lead technical design role.
  • Proven experience leading at least one full‑cycle, new PLM system implementation, not just administration or support of an existing system.
  • Hands‑on expertise with one or more major PLM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of PLM data models, including BOM management, item and part structures, change management (ECR/ECO), document control, and revision practices.
  • Solid grasp of data migration methodologies and legacy system decommissioning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate between technical architecture and business needs.
  • Strong documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and system design documents.
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience working with PLM…
