SOC Engineer

Immediate need for a talented SOC Engineer. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite).

Pay Range: $70 - $80/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Note - The resource will be in direct touch with Business teams
• Work with Information Security stakeholders to identify priority security questions needing measurement and analysis
• Recommend suitable metrics for each priority question
• Coordinate with functional owners to determine relevant data sources and requirements for producing metrics
• Evaluate available data for fitness, and inform domain or data source owners when data maturity, availability, or quality falls short
• Partner with Data Engineers, Analysts, and other team members to deliver and maintain metrics through a web portal
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of processes and objectives across multiple Information Security domains to ensure metrics align with operational realities
• Apply rigorous and repeatable quality standards to metric development, especially when centralized data governance is lacking
• Present metrics and insights clearly to stakeholders and senior leaders

Key Requirements and Technology

Experience:

• Must have skills: SOC, Security Operations
• Over 7 years of direct experience in information security & analytics, ideally in senior or leadership roles
• Strong executive presence and the ability to communicate complex topics to senior leaders
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities to meet business needs
• Lead data investigations and analysis projects in situations with ambiguous requirements
• Strong understanding of formal research methods and reporting
