We are seeking a Applied Scientist to propel Gen AI acceleration within Finance. This role will focus on leveraging large language models and agentic Ai to enhance decision-making processes, automate complex controllership processes, and improve operational efficiency in Stores Finance.

Key job responsibilities

- Develop approaches to automate and enhance financial processes using state-of-the-art language models

- Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities for AI-driven transformation

- Work with Software Engineering and Data Engineering to implement solutions that scale to the entire organization

About the team

WW Amazon Stores Finance Science (ASFS) works to leverage science and economics to drive improved financial results, foster data backed decisions, and embed science within Finance. ASFS is focused on developing science/econ products that empower controllership, improve business decisions and financial planning by understanding drivers, and innovating Gen AI capabilities for efficiency and scale.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

- Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse

- Master's degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, or related fields

- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code

- Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems, or experience in developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or other AI acceleration hardware

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
