Job Description:
Technical Skills
- Distributed SQL: Strong conceptual understanding of distributed architectures, consensus protocols (Raft), data replication, and sharding.
- Cockroach DB Expertise: Minimum 1–3 years of direct operational experience managing Cockroach DB clusters in production or staging environments.
- SQL Proficiency: Excellent SQL skills, including writing complex queries, optimizing joins, and understanding isolation levels (Serializable).
- Linux & Infrastructure: Solid command of Linux/Unix systems, CLI troubleshooting tools, and basic networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, TLS certificates).
- Cloud & Dev Ops:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes (Cockroach DB Operator). - Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar logging and APM tools.
- Cockroach DB Certified Professional or Associate credential.
- Experience migrating legacy relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) to Cockroach DB.
- Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation tasks
