Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a supply chain planning analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Sunnyvale, California. This exciting role supports the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors division, which supports the Submarine Industrial Base and performs on Northrop Grumman’s existing programs and platforms while also exploring exciting and new opportunities to shape Northrop Grumman’s portfolio of the future.
This is a full‑time onsite role at our Sunnyvale, CA facility.
- Lead a team responsible for the cost, schedule, and performance of suppliers for the operating unit.
- Manage all phases of the program effort from the initiation of the supplier strategy and proposal phase through negotiation, award, execution, and management of supplier activities to meet program objectives.
- Ensure mission success of supply chain responsibilities and secure supplier performance to committed schedules, terms, conditions, contractual requirements, specifications and drawings.
- Interface and collaborate with other functions of the program team.
- Analyze and aggregate supply/demand requirements.
- Plan and coordinate program requirements.
- Monitor and establish material inventory.
- Submit CAM/EV reporting.
- Address supplier capacity and/or production issues.
- Evaluate suppliers and note key performance indicators.
- Leverage your skills and talents throughout this role.
- Forecast material receipts and communicate variances to forecast.
- Create and release requisitions.
- Receive and review requirements for non‑standard parts.
- Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements.
- Develop and understand the proposal/execution strategy and structures.
- Maintain a strong business acumen and ability to operate in a fast‑paced development environment with leading‑edge technology suppliers and a non‑traditional supply base.
- Define and develop material strategy.
- Plan inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough‑cut capacity for all products.
- Participate in make/buy process, long‑term capacity and resource planning, product phase‑in/phase‑out, manufacturing ramp‑up, end‑of‑life management and product‑line management; analyze purchase material supply/demand position using MRP tools.
- Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill‑of‑Materials (BOM) requirements; create or reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
- Participate in long‑term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase‑ins as well as existing product line phase‑outs.
- Interface with source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in supply chain/business/program management, or Master’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, program management, business management.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
- Experience in Earned Value Management Systems.
- ASCM/APICS Supply Chain Certifications.
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams in supplier onboarding and certification efforts.
