Description
Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Role OverviewThis role is responsible for building and operating a world‑class ASIC supply chain planning function — spanning wafer start management, assembly, test, and packaging across foundry and OSAT partners. The ideal candidate brings deep supply planning expertise, a data‑driven mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure uninterrupted silicon supply for critical programs.
Key Job Responsibilities- Build supply vs. demand models to project shortages and recommend pre‑build actions — leverage demand forecasts, capacity plans, yield assumptions, and lead‑time data to quantify gap‑to‑plan across planning horizons.
- Develop scenario‑based recommendations for pre‑build quantities, timing, and financial trade‑offs to ensure uninterrupted supply for critical ASIC programs.
- Drive foundry and OSAT partners to execute procurement and distribution signals — working with Supplier Management teams to reduce lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), lot sizes, and improve delivery schedules to optimize silicon supply chain performance.
- Deep dive into supply chain constraints and drive actions for systematic long‑term resolution — with cross‑functional collaboration across hardware engineering, design, test, packaging, quality, and operations teams to address fab capacity, yield, and test throughput bottlenecks.
- Lead long‑term capacity‑constrained planning for ASIC programs — build and maintain supply vs. demand models that project shortages across multi‑quarter and multi‑year horizons, identify capacity gaps at foundry and OSAT partners, recommend pre‑build strategies, and secure allocation commitments to de‑risk product launches and sustaining supply.
- Manage ASIC product lifecycle transitions, including End‑of‑life (EOL) and last‑time‑buy (LTB) planning to minimize inventory risk and ensure smooth transitions.
- Provide Clear‑to‑Build (CTB) updates with visibility to ASIC material supply, highlighting projected supply coverages.
- Represent project team in internal/external program meetings as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level, and AI tools.
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Knowledge of SQL or Python
- Consumer Electronics Manufacturing or experience working with OSAT is a plus.
