Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Experience in commodity management or sourcing with data center rack power conversion or power back-up solutions, including agreement negotiations, pricing negotiations, assurance of supply, capacity planning and supplier development.
- Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA.
- 7 years of experience in end-to-end rack power conversion or power back-up solutions, manufacturing and supply chain processes, and strategic business planning and execution.
- Experience with data center and rack power commodities.
- Experience with new and evolving power technologies in the data center space.
- Experience with rack power conversion or power back-up manufacturing processes.
Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Manage multiple projects and suppliers, negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements, from statements of work to master supply agreements, to secure favorable pricing and terms and ensure supply assurance at scale.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the supplier selection process for new platforms and partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that balance innovation, time-to-market, cost, quality and delivery.
- Oversee the operational aspects of the supply chain, including schedules, capacity, and supply chain flexibility, while communicating status and risks to management, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Mitigate supply chain risks and measure partner performance through regular business reviews to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a high level of industry expertise, keeping current on supplier and market conditions to inform sourcing strategies and negotiations.
