About

the role

As a Fleet Reliability Engineer at Applied Intuition, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability of our vehicle fleets across multiple projects. Your primary focus will be optimizing operational hardware and software—specifically sensor suites and onboard compute systems—and conducting rigorous validation testing throughout the vehicle lifecycle. By driving systemic quality and stability improvements for our on‑road vehicles, your technical contributions will directly enable and scale our broader fleet operations.

At

Applied Intuition, you will:
  • Improve reliability of vehicle fleet uptime by performing root‑cause analysis on trending vehicle issues
  • Implement long‑term fixes through designing fleet‑scalable solutions
  • Create, implement, and maintain robust testing procedures, diagnostic tools, and operational metrics to maximize fleet uptime, safety, and overall vehicle stability
  • Track down why systems fail or underperform out on the road, and use those findings to help us build stronger, more reliable vehicles
  • Work cross‑functionally with engineering and operations teams for escalations and collaboration on reliability improvements to our fleets with demo and testing performance
We're looking for someone who has:
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
  • 5+ years experience working with automotive hardware and software
  • Experience with hardware reliability and testing
  • Experience with AV components (LiDAR, RADAR, Cameras, etc.)
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of automotive communication (CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
  • Knowledge/Experience with common CAN/CAN FD tools (Vector, PCAN View/Explorer)
  • Experience flashing software/firmware updates on hardware (ECUs, etc)
  • Experience with software tools/services like Slack, Jira, and Confluence
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $110,000 – $150,000 USD annually.
