Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Machinist
Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)
We are seeking a hands-on CNC Machining Technician to join a fast-paced prototyping and hardware development environment. This role supports the creation and testing of innovative hardware products by operating CNC equipment, programming parts using CAD/CAM tools, and ensuring high-quality prototype production.
You will work closely with design and engineering teams to transform digital designs into physical components while meeting demanding timelines and quality standards.
Candidates without hands-on fabrication, machining, or digital design experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Program parts using templated CAM programs in Fusion 360 or similar software.
Operate industrial-grade CNC machining equipment and monitor machine performance.
Load and unload materials, set up jobs, and ensure production schedules are met.
Remove finished parts and perform post-processing activities including cleaning, deburring, sanding, and finishing.
Interpret and work from 2D and 3D digital design files.
Update task management systems to communicate job status and progress.
Follow established SOPs to maintain equipment and ensure continuous production readiness.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to support prototype development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
1-5 years of experience in CNC machining, fabrication, manufacturing, or related technical environments.
Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360 or equivalent.
Hands-on experience operating CNC machines (commercial, educational, or hobbyist experience considered).
Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D design files.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a prototype or machine shop environment.
Familiarity with post-processing techniques such as deburring, sanding, and abrasive blasting.
Exposure to Solid Works, Mastercam, Rhino, or similar design/manufacturing software.
Familiarity with 5-axis CNC machining.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
