Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner needed for a full-time contract opportunity with Yoh’s corporate office/manufacturing client located in Sunnyvale, CA
. The clinic offers occupational and preventative care for employees. You will typically be the only provider onsite working alongside Nurses. The position involves a focus on the protection of individuals from occupational and environmental hazards, illness and injury prevention, and health promotion.
Shifts: 4/10 schedule Monday-Thursday around 6:30am to 5:00pm.
Top Skills You Should Possess- Active/unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (ANP/FNP) license in the state of California.
- Current prescription authority (plus DEA preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an NP
- Previous experience in Occupational/Employee Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Corrections, Primary Care, or Family Practice type setting
- Assessment, triage, treatment, and education for employee health concerns
- Assume overall responsibility for all OSHA program medical requirements (e.g., respiratory protection, hearing conservation, etc.)
- Perform onsite physical assessments (pre-placement, return-to-work, fitness-for-duty)
- Ambulatory care such as treating sore throats, ear aches, rashes, pink eye, etc.
- Review and interpret results and reports, including history/physical, EKG, lab work, spirometry, and audiograms
- Provide onsite testing for strep pharyngitis, UTI, influenza, hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia
- Work collaboratively to recognize environmental hazards and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers; create preventative measures that ensure the health and safety of employees
- Medical surveillance programs (e.g., hearing conservation, respiratory protection, visual acuity, blood borne pathogens, biological monitoring, etc.) in collaboration with EHS
- Respond to emergencies onsite and provide emergency medical care as needed
- Nationally Certified (ANCC or AANP)
- Current BLS
- Computer skills with previous experience using EMR (experience with Cority a plus!)
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interview, teach and counsel patients and interact with clients/employers
- Proof of US Citizenship (e.g., valid US Passport or original US Birth Certificate) for security clearance/badging
