Role Overview

Systems Test Engineer Level 2 / 3 – Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a full‑time onsite engineer to support development and ongoing support of surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation system designs for the US Navy, based out of Sunnyvale, CA. Responsibilities
  • Perform functional analysis, scheduling analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation/verification and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into test requirements and test plans.
  • Conduct activities for system integration, installation, test, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Develop test system architecture, test plans and procedures, execute testing, and communicate test results.
  • Manage multiple projects across launcher programs simultaneously.
  • Participate in test meetings, reviews and technical visits to customers.
Travel

Travel is occasional (approximately 10% of the time) and may increase to about 30% during major test events.

Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications – Level 2:
    Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience (or a Master's with 0+ years). Exposure to test plans, procedures, reports and requirement verification. Proficient with MS Office. Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Basic Qualifications – Level 3:
    Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience (or a Master's with 3+ years). Same exposure and skills as Level 2.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    :
    Five or more years of relevant experience (or a Master's with three or more years), experience creating and writing test plans and reports, participation in test meetings, and requirement verification.
Benefits and Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800 – $137,600. Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000 – $171,000. Possible overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, annual bonus, and long‑term incentives. Health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off are also provided.
