Job Description:
About the Role:
We are seeking a Biosensors Research Operations Specialist to join our team. This role operates at the intersection of hardware/software testing and human subjects research. You will be responsible for testing early-stage prototypes and executing rigorous user studies focused on advanced health features.


What You’ll Do:

End-to-End Study Execution:
Manage the planning and execution of internal and/or external user studies. Navigate internal and external legal and IRB approval processes. Prepare devices, distribute study materials, and utilize data acquisition and analysis skills to initiate and maintain robust, repeatable data collection with minimal operator-induced variance.
Hardware & Bench-top Testing:
Conduct bench-top testing of early hardware and prototypes to ensure sensor functionality and identify technical issues prior to user testing.
Participant Management:
Manage participant scheduling using internal tools, handle cancellations, and optimize lab availability to ensure efficient study execution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Coordinate with engineering, legal, clinical, and research teams to secure study approvals, maintain compliance, and align project expectations.
Data Quality & Reporting:
Conduct rigorous data quality assessments to ensure data integrity. Perform AI-driven data analysis, summarize progress, and prepare objective, actionable reports for cross-functional stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on Expertise:
Handling proof-of-concept prototypes for benchtop tests and user studies Though not a must, a background in neuroscience, physiology, or a related discipline. Proven experience running human subjects studies utilizing multimodal sensing & ground truth/reference equipment.
AI Fluency:
Comfortable leveraging AI tools for coding, documentation, and automating routine tasks to increase operational efficiency.
Data Analytics:
Technical proficiency in data acquisition, processing, and analysis. Capable of ‘vibe coding’ (Python, MATLAB) and utilizing AI tools to handle different data structures Strong organizational skills with precise attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to maintain smooth lab operations.
Clear Communication & High Agency:
Direct and professional interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders, communicate research insights objectively, and guide participants efficiently.
Independent Problem-Solving:
Critical thinker and self-starter capable of troubleshooting experiment issues independently and managing workload with minimal oversight.
