Assistant Grocery Manager

Overview

Join Sprouts Farmers Market as an Assistant Grocery Manager and help customers make healthy choices while managing a busy team.

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery Team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team that focuses on delivering high‑quality products and outstanding customer service.
• Participate in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries.
• Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and confirm that team members follow them.
• Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

• At least 18 years old with 1–3 years of retail management experience, preferably with natural foods and alternative diets.
• Dependable, flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; capable of walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to give and receive direction.
• Outgoing, friendly, and customer‑oriented.
• Leadership experience building and motivating staff; knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales, and financial goals.
• Detail‑oriented with analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organization and planning; able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Physically able to vertically transfer milk trays up to 60 lbs., from 9″ to 62″ for up to 25 hours; vertically/horizontally transfer boxes up to 50 lbs., from 5″ to 34″ within 5 feet for up to 25 hours; repeat squatting, kneeling, bending to a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours.

$19.80 – $27.70 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
