Overview
The Membership Specialist (MS) represents UFC GYM by providing a welcoming, informative, and entertaining experience for all members and guests during their visits. The MS is responsible for driving potential members into the gym, delivering industry-leading customer service to both new and current members, and translating these interactions into exceeding personal revenue targets set by management. This full‑time position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager and the General Manager.
Responsibilities- Lead Generation & Appointment Booking – Conduct external marketing, promotions, and prospecting; collect leads internally at enrollment and through member referrals; book membership appointments via phone and meet or exceed monthly appointment and guest goals.
- Guest Touring, Membership Presentations, & Personal Production – Present the “Fitness Tour” to all guests; use approved presentations for membership options; aim to enroll 50% of guests and 25% of guests into Personal Training; meet monthly personal sales room financial goals, including New Membership Units, Personal Training Units, and Electronic Funds Transfer sets.
- Customer Service – Follow up with enrolled members to exceed expectations; provide the highest level of service when communicating with guests; assist with maintaining a clean and operational facility; handle cancellation requests and obtain manager approval where necessary.
- Administrative & Operational Duties – Follow the monthly sales schedule; attend mandatory monthly All Team Meetings and daily production meetings; maintain uniform policy; record time worked and follow proper punch‑in/out procedures.
The Membership Specialist works with club staff across Operations, Fitness, and Membership departments, as well as with members, guests, and community vendors, to support club sales. This position has no direct reports.
Required Qualifications- In-depth knowledge of sales practices and techniques.
- General understanding of the Fitness Industry.
- Proficient with computers and telephone use.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Independent, self‑starter with strong organizational skills.
- Team player who adheres to meal and rest break periods and clocks in/out for all shift times.
- High school degree or GED required.
- Completion of company sales training and orientation program.
- 1–2 years of sales experience preferred.
- Physical requirements:
lift 45 lbs, type on a computer, sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs regularly, and demonstrate proper fitness techniques.
Base compensation may vary based on location, skills, and related factors. Pay range: $19.00 – $65.00 per hour.
