Job Overview
Join our Advanced Microscopy team as a TEM Scientist. You will operate state‑of‑the‑art Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) instrumentation, analyze advanced materials, and provide high‑quality, site‑specific insights that drive critical client decisions.
Responsibilities- Partner with team members to deliver high‑quality analysis services to clients.
- Operate TEM equipment to obtain TEM/STEM images, SAED, EDS, and EELS data from samples.
- Develop TEM analysis protocols and techniques to meet client requests.
- Create summary reports that capture project objectives, analysis data, and interpretation of results.
- Engage in discussions with customers to solve their questions and concerns.
- Operate TEM tools (FEI or JEOL electron microscopes) and collect images based on customer requests.
- Perform elemental analysis such as EDS/EELS, process data, and generate reports.
- Communicate findings and answer customer inquiries.
5 pm – 2 am, Tuesdays to Saturdays or Sundays to Thursdays. Shift differential applies.
Qualifications- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in TEM analysis of various materials.
- Deep understanding of TEM operations and principles.
- Expertise in electron microscopy, including TEM/STEM, SAED, 4D‑STEM, EDS, and EELS.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience with FEI and JEOL electron microscopy tools.
- Knowledge of semiconductor chip products and wafer samples.
- Work at a computer or laboratory equipment for extended periods.
- Operate keyboard and lab equipment, use telephone, access file cabinets.
- Communicate clearly in group settings and over the phone.
- Handle small, fragile devices with tweezers and/or fingers.
- Maintain close‑distance visual acuity, with or without correction.
- Remain stationary 80% of the time.
