Job Overview
The Union Utility Engineer is an entry‑level engineering position attached to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between JLL and the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 39.
Responsibilities- Repair restroom equipment such as toilets, soap dispenser & flushometers.
- Repair registers and radiators.
- Replace lamps and clean light fixtures.
- Remove and replace ceiling tiles.
- Complete minor repairs on furniture and floors.
- Maintain and/or replace door hardware.
- Repair floor maintenance equipment.
- Complete maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other building facilities.
- Replace air filters in the HVAC equipment.
- Perform general cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
- Clean equipment in engine room and shop.
- Perform miscellaneous repair work requiring the limited use of hand tools.
- Replace/inspect fire extinguishers.
- General plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Clean air vents and roof drains.
- Other duties as assigned.
Proper lifting of equipment, materials & tools up to 50lbs.; ability to hear and see audible and visual alarms; ability to detect changes in noise levels of operating or rotating equipment while performing rounds; ability to effectively use portable radios and cell phones; occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, standing or sitting; climbing stairs and ladders; working on ladders or catwalks including hands above or below head and body;
working outdoors sometimes exposed to inclement weather.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience and/or trade school training.
- Driver's license and clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to problem‑solve down to the root cause.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Personal Computers, PDAs, Smart Phones to operate within the Work Order System, Email and training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Estimated annual compensation: $83,428.00 – $83,428.80 USD.
LocationOn-site – Sunnyvale, CA.
