Position Summary
As part of the Emerging Tech team, you’ll build the mobile foundation for Project Sparky, an AI-powered assistant that helps customers manage everyday shopping through intelligent, context-aware conversations. In this role, you’ll design and scale high‑performance iOS and Android systems that integrate deeply with generative and agentic AI while partnering with AI/ML and backend teams to bring next‑generation conversational experiences to millions of customers.

What you’ll do- Build and evolve native mobile experiences used by millions of customers every day.
- Design mobile architectures that balance performance, reliability, and speed to ship value quickly.
- Partner closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver polished, intuitive user experiences.
- Lead discovery, prototyping, and technical direction for new mobile capabilities.
- Write and maintain production‑quality code, including debugging, performance tuning, and readiness for release.
- Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for mobile engineering practices across the organization.
- 10–20+ years of mobile engineering experience.
- Deep native expertise in Swift/iOS and/or Kotlin/Android with ownership of platform‑level architecture.
- Experience leading large, cross‑functional initiatives with broad technical impact.
- Proven ability to scale mobile systems, improve performance, and elevate developer workflows.
- 7–10+ years of mobile engineering experience with end‑to‑end feature ownership (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android).
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical and design decisions.
- Comfortable taking features from discovery through production and ongoing iteration.
- 3–7+ years of native mobile development experience (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android).
- Strong track record of delivering features, debugging complex issues, and improving code quality.
- Experience integrating backend services and navigating large codebases.
- Interest in expanding technical leadership and owning larger problem spaces over time.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
