AI Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an AI Engineer for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA. This role focuses on building production‑grade AI systems and data workflows, and requires strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, REST API development, and Python‑based data processing as a key qualification.

Rate Range: $21/hour to $22/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

AI Engineer job responsibilities include:

* Build and maintain secure, high‑performance RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Django REST/Flask) and modular backend components that improve reliability and maintainability.

* Design and operate data pipelines and asynchronous workflows using Python (Pandas, Num Py), Celery/PySpark, and Oracle PL/SQL for data migration and performance/load testing.

* Develop production‑grade RAG pipelines with vector databases and contextual re‑ranking to deliver domain‑specific retrieval and recommendations.

* Implement multi‑agent AI workflows using Lang Chain and ReAct‑style tool calling to automate problem interpretation and solution generation.

* Create ML forecasting systems with automated retraining, feature engineering, and monitoring to maintain model accuracy in production.

* Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into AI applications, ensuring system reliability, security, and interpretability.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.

* 5-8 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, backend API development, or data engineering.

* Strong expertise in PL/SQL, Python (Pandas/Num Py), REST API development, and data processing for AI workflows.

* Hands‑on experience building or supporting RAG pipelines, AI/LLM workflows, vector databases, or multi‑agent automation frameworks.

Pay Details: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour
