The Senior/Staff Java Developer will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, cloud-based applications.
This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, cloud technologies, testing, and Kafka.
The engineer must be capable of working independently, owning tasks end-to-end, and contributing to high-performance engineering environments.
This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work twice per week.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable, reliable, cloud-native applications and microservices.
- Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions, working with cloud tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automation workflows.
- Implement and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka.
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure high-quality code and system reliability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and Dev Ops teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Work independently on assigned tasks, driving them from requirements to production-ready deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java development.
- Expertise in Spring Boot for building distributed microservices.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
- Proficiency with Kafka for event streaming and messaging solutions.
- Strong background in writing automated tests and implementing testing frameworks.
- Proficiency with CI/CD and modern Dev Ops practices (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops, etc.).
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment (twice weekly onsite).
- Experience contributing to large-scale, distributed enterprise systems.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or Docker.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
