Software Engineer III; Mobile - Android

Position Summary

Position Summary... What you’ll do... Walmart is looking for an Android developer focused on enhancing and maintaining the Pharmacy Center feature in the Walmart Android app. This role involves developing new features for the Pharmacy feature ensuring the application remains user‑friendly, efficient, scalable, and secure.

Our team works closely with our US stores and Walmart Health and Wellness business to better serve customers by empowering team members, pharmacies, and clinics with technological innovation. From pharmacies and clinics to mobile features, Walmart Health and Wellness offers an extensive selection that our customers and patients value, whether they meet with their clinicians online at , through one of our mobile apps, or in‑store.

• Feature Implementation:
  Develop new features for the Pharmacy Center section of the Walmart app using Kotlin, with integration of Graph
  
  QL and REST APIs to enhance functionality.
• Code Quality Assurance:
  Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to best practices, design patterns, and Android standards.
• API Integration:
  Implement and manage integrations with Graph
  
  QL and REST endpoints to support dynamic data and interactions within the app.
• Testing:
  Ensure developed features pass unit tests and perform effectively in real‑life scenarios through integration testing.
• Continuous Learning:
  Stay up to date with the latest trends in Android and API development to continuously enhance the apps capabilities.
• Agile
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives, to ensure smooth and efficient feature delivery.

• Kotlin Programming:
  Proficient in Kotlin, including its syntax and features.
• Android Development Tools:
  Experience with Android Studio for development and debugging processes.
• Graph
  
  QL and REST:
  Proficiency in working with both Graph
  
  QL and RESTful APIs to retrieve and manage app data.
• Expert level knowledge of Java, Android SDK and Gradle
• Experience with Kotlin would be ideal (were migrating our codebase; all new features are written in 100% Kotlin)
• Experience in developing content rich applications including animation and window transition with Material Design
• Experience in good app architecture using design patterns such as MVVM, MVP
• Version Control:
  Knowledge of Git for managing code repositories.
• Communication:
  Ability to convey technical concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally.
• Teamwork:
  Self‑motivated individual capable of positively contributing to a team environment, with the ability to work independently but open to collaboration.
