Akkodis is seeking a Sr Java Developer for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA/Austin, TX(Hybrid). Candidates are responsible for designing and delivering scalable, high‑performance enterprise systems.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable, low‑latency Java services and REST APIs using Java 11+, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and related frameworks.
- Build and maintain data access layers across relational databases (Oracle) and No
SQL stores (Mongo
DB), including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning. - Engineer distributed, multi‑tier applications on AWS, leveraging caching, messaging, and resiliency patterns to meet throughput and reliability SLAs.
- Apply Computer Science fundamentals (DSA) and best practices such as TDD, CI/CD, code reviews, and robust unit/integration testing (JUnit/TestNG).
- Use AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Roo Code, Claude) to accelerate delivery while upholding code quality, security standards, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive continuous improvements in performance, maintainability, and observability.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10+ years of enterprise‑level Java development experience, including 5+ years working with Mongo
DB. - Strong hands‑on expertise with Java 8+, Spring ecosystem, REST API development, and distributed system design.
- Proven ability to work with AWS cloud services and leverage AI development tools such as Roo Code and Claude to accelerate high‑quality delivery.
