Senior Python Engineer

Day 1 Onsite Sunnyvale, CA (Client prefers only local folks)

Long term contract

Hybrid – 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

No mid layer / No Implementation partners are Involved

• We are looking for a highly skilled Python Engineer with hands-on experience in building AI/ML-driven solutions, particularly those involving Large Language Models (LLMs), Vector Databases (Vector
  
  DBs), and modern NLP tooling.
• This role requires deep backend experience with Python, along with exposure to web frameworks like Flask or Django, and working knowledge of similarity search, inference pipelines, and ML application integrations such as Lang Chain or Guardrails.
• The ideal candidate is self-motivated, communicative, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Python, Flask, or Django.
• Implement and optimize LLM inference workflows, including similarity search, prompt engineering, and integration with VectorDBs.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to prototype and deploy AI models and services.
• Build backend components to support scalable AI applications using tools like Lang Chain, Guardrails, and Transformers.
• Participate in the end-to-end product lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with a focus on maintainability and performance.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to ongoing architectural discussions and implementation of best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Python - 5–10 Years - Required
• Flask - 1+ Year - Required
• AI/ML Algorithms (LLM Inference, Similarity Search, Lang Chain, etc.) - 1+ Year - Required
• Ability to work independently and communicate ideas clearly Proven Experience - Required

Nice to Have

• PyTorch – Experience - Preferred
• Hugging Face Transformers – Experience - Preferred
• React / Frontend Development – Experience
  - Preferred
• Core/Advanced Java - Nice to Have

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying ML models and integrating them with production applications.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Experience working with REST APIs and frontend/backend integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field is the minimum requirement to perform the above-mentioned specialty occupation responsibilities.

Pay Range: $70/hr - $75/hr

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
