• Onboard under the guidance of a Principal Algorithm Development Engineer to gain expertise in Cepheid’s signal‑processing and image‑processing based embedded applications; take ownership as a key contributor for enhancements and new feature development.
• Refactor existing signal processing and image processing application logic to increase maintainability and portability and translate into Python that can efficiently execute on embedded processors and generate equivalent results.
• Apply AI and machine‑learning as necessary to improve existing algorithms.
• Build mathematical models using discrete filters, statistical methodology and signal processing algorithms to process biomedical sensor data.
• Work with cross‑discipline teams on new product introduction projects while adhering to software development, source control processes and documenting software requirements and detailed design.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 6+ years, or doctoral degree with 3+ years in real‑time embedded systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experienced MATLAB, Python, C, C++ programmer with experience in real‑time/embedded system design, debugging and testing in Embedded Linux/RTOS environments.
• Experience developing embedded applications for ARM and X86 architectures.
• Experience developing digital signal processing and image processing applications.
• Experience using advanced deep learning and machine learning algorithms.

• Comfortable working in multidisciplinary environments.
• Medical device or regulated industry experience.

Salary range for this role is $190,000 - $210,000.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
