Position Summary
Senior Software Engineer – International Digital Experiences. Join the Walmart Global Tech team to improve international e‑commerce experiences for millions of customers.
About YouYou are a passionate front‑end engineer who loves to code in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You turn ideas into simple, ship‑ready products, care for user experience, and embrace modern web technologies. You understand performance, A/B tests, and web‑vitals, and you help others by sharing knowledge and contributing to open‑source. You can work with React, Redux, Graph
QL, Node.js, NextJS, and other tools; if you don’t already know one, you are ready to learn it.
- Build reusable React components with modular CSS; manage client data with Redux, react‑query, and Graph
QL. - Measure and resolve performance bottlenecks using Chrome Dev Tools, Lighthouse, Web Pagetest, and custom tooling.
- Refactor or improve existing JavaScript code to maintain high quality.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and UX teams to create intuitive, seamless experiences across applications.
- Establish tools, processes, and documentation that enhance code quality.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in solving complex programming and design problems.
- Review code written by other team members or teams.
- Ship features to hundreds of thousands of users daily while owning code and features.
- Assist with the Node‑based developer platform.
- Share knowledge through one‑on‑one sessions or lightning talks.
- Act with a sense of urgency, embrace mistakes, learn from them, and drive the team toward success.
- 4+ years of experience in object‑oriented design and software development.
- 4+ years of experience building responsive, single‑page web applications with modern front‑end JavaScript technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Thorough understanding of React, Node.js, and core principles.
- 4+ years of experience creating and/or consuming RESTful web services.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Expertise with unit testing and Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
The annual salary range for this position is $117,000 – $234,000. Additional compensation includes performance bonuses.
