About The Role
The Sales Automation Engineering team is dedicated to empowering Uber Eats sellers by building tools and automation that make it easier to sell Uber Eats services to merchants. As an Application Engineer in the Sales Automation Engineering team, you will be responsible for implementing critical features on the CRM tech stack, while integrating with internal and external platforms to achieve desired results.
This role will have a significant impact on Uber's results in areas of user growth, revenue, and global expansion.
- Build and optimize Salesforce related functionalities for B2B teams.
- Build and configure APIs with internal and 3rd-party cloud solutions.
- Design, implement, and ship reliable and well-tested features to our users.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, product owners, TPMs and other engineering teams to define project requirements, consolidated design and execution plans.
- Ensure that system designs, including APIs, architecture, and dependency selection, result in scalable, resilient solutions that minimize support costs and enhance the user experience.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for the solutions, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational support documentation.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
- Support QA efforts during implementations and rollouts of new system features.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 4+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Minimum of 2+ years of Salesforce application development experience.
- Understanding of Salesforce platform, its capabilities and limitations.
- Proficient in object‑oriented programming concepts.
- Experience working with C#, Java, Go, Python, etc.
- Experienced with SOAP API, REST API, and BULK API, including API design, development, and management.
- Hands‑on experience with Apex, Lightning, SOQL/SOSL.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, etc.
- Effective communication skills to interact with engineers, technical teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements, and describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with cloud & SaaS platforms, and hands‑on experience with cloud‑based integrations.
- Understanding of Dev Ops practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Salesforce Certification for Platform App Builder and/or Platform Developer is highly preferred.
- Enjoys solving complex business problems through innovative and technology‑driven solutions.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $153,000 per year – USD $170,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $153,000 per year – USD $170,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. All full‑time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
