Systems/Software Engineer III

Hybrid role requiring 2 days per week at an HPE office. The engineer will work with product marketing, software and hardware development teams to review design specifications and develop functional test plans.

• Work closely with product marketing, software and hardware development teams to review design specifications and develop functional test plans.
• Execute test cases, report issues in the bug tracking system, debug issues with development for resolution, and automate test cases.
• Integrate automated scripts for regression, deliver automated scripts using an agile process, and develop functional, scale, and performance test scenarios using automation.

• M.S. in Computer Engineering or a B.S. in CS/EE with 4+ years of experience.

• Strong programming fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and GoLang.
• Understanding of operating systems (Linux) and computer networking concepts.
• Experience with various test methodologies, including white box, black box, and solution testing.
• Routing protocol knowledge (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, etc.).
• Experience with FreeBSD/Linux/VM environments.
• Experience with multiple software system design tools and languages.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with test equipment such as Spirent and Ixia, and automation frameworks such as Robot.
• Understanding of L2/L3 protocols, telemetry, SNMP, and network virtualization.
• Proficient in data serialization formats like YAML and JSON.
