Requirements- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with developing large‑scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience building and managing distributed processing pipelines for large‑scale datasets.
- Experience architecting and developing software for distributed systems in high‑performance computing or cloud environments.

Quota Server and Bouncer are the massively distributed platforms powering quota enforcement across Google and Cloud. As foundational and critical services, they are utilized by virtually all critical services within Google.
In this role, your mission is to develop and maintain planet‑scale, distributed infrastructure for reliable and accurate rate limiting and quota enforcement, serving internal Google and Google Cloud clients.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is 147, + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
Responsibilities- Design, implement and maintain some of the widely used and critical rate limiting services within Google.
- Collect, refine and prioritize feature requests from users of the rate‑limiting service and architect an execution plan to implement them.
- Debug planet‑scale distributed systems and diagnose production issues.
- Communicate and collaborate with partners (our SRE, current and future users of our service, our dependencies).
