About the Role
Cloud Engineer – Sensor Control Plane (Cloud Detections) role focuses on building cloud‑side detection systems that work in conjunction with on‑endpoint code to detect security problems, automatically stop adversaries, and provide actionable data to customers. The position is hybrid, based in either Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA, with at least two days in office per week.
What You’ll Do- Leverage and build cloud‑based systems for global‑scale attack detection.
- Brainstorm, design, and collaborate with multiple cross‑functional teams.
- Mentor peers and contribute to their growth.
- Deliver high‑quality Go code, handling edge cases, testing, code reviews, logging, and resilient architecture.
- Read and understand code in multiple languages (Go, Python, Unix shell, etc.).
- Drive continuous learning and raise the bar for yourself and teammates.
- Take ownership of deliverables and lead when necessary.
- Eligible for CJIS clearance (U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident).
● Computer science background or equivalent experience in distributed systems, algorithms, and data structures. - 8+ years of production experience building and scaling back‑end systems.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
- Experience with Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch/Open search, and Redis/Valkey.
- Prior work with Go, Scala, Python, Java, C#, or C++.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, OCI compute and storage services.
- Experience with stream processing systems (e.g., Apache Flink) is a plus.
- Experience deploying into Linux environments.
- Team‑player attitude and strong collaboration skills.
- Computer or network security experience.
- Prior implementation experience with Go and Python.
- Experience in scalable microservices architectures.
- Experience with containerization (docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
