Backend Engineer

You will be responsible for designing and building the management layer for a distributed embedded system. This includes designing the policy structure, configuration storage and reliability, secret management, and engines that enable these capabilities. This will allow you to build a performant and robust system from the ground up, having a direct impact on the success of the product line.

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full‑stack engineer

• Strong proficiency in a subset of modern backend programming languages (Go, Python, Node.js, Rust, etc.)

• Deep understanding of database technologies, their performance characteristics, and use cases

• Proven experience designing, building, and securing modern RESTful or gRPC‑based APIs for highly available systems

• Experience with Policy Engines and policy‑as‑code frameworks

• Strong understanding of security and secret storage technologies

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Frontend experience is a plus

• Experience with modern cloud providers and Dev Ops experience is a plus

• IoT and Embedded system experience is a nice‑to‑have

We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees’ health, well‑being, and long‑term success. The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 – $250,000 per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined based on job‑related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Most candidates can expect an offer within the range listed above.
