This role is for fungible software development engineers in the Amazon Ads, LEO, Devices, and Entertainment Teams.

• Design and implement highly available, scalable cloud services in Java.
• Build and operate Tier‑1 services at massive scale.
• Solve novel and complex distributed systems challenges— from low‑latency communication to fault‑tolerant architectures.
• Leverage generative AI extensively in your day‑to‑day development workflow to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams across Amazon to define technical direction and deliver customer‑facing features.
• Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, including on‑call support, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

• USA, WA, Seattle: $ – $ USD annually
