Software Development Engineer, EUC Client

Job :  | Amazon Web Services, Inc.

As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day‑to‑day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real‑world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions.

Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no‑brainers to buy and easy to use.

The way the world works is undergoing enormous change. People are working remotely, on the go, and moving from one project to the next. And, they’re collaborating across borders, time zones, and organizations. We built Amazon Web Services End User Computing (EUC) services to give companies the agility to respond to the changing needs of their workforce. Our vision is to be the best place for customers to run and access their desktops and apps from any device.

As we continuously innovate to increase workforce productivity, we are looking for a software engineer to build a new service to realize that vision.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Influence the technical direction of the team, working with many different technologies and organizations across AWS and Amazon.
  • Develop complex user applications on major desktop platforms ranging from Windows, MacOS, to Linux for our use cases and enforce a verifiable chain of trust from boot to userspace.
  • Curate and build MSI and pkg packages, sign artifacts, and automate image builds and optimize OTA/rollback flows.
  • Integrate Secure Boot, kernel lockdown, dm‑verity, and measured boot with TPM 2.0 and remote attestation.
  • Work with Rust, C/C++, C#, Shell scripting, and Python in a modern desktop environment; prior contributions to upstream Linux or other open‑source projects are a plus.

A day in the life:
Our team is constantly innovating, finding new ways of building massively scalable systems. We set a high bar to build and deliver highly secure, highly available, and highly scalable systems. We are passionate about our customers and love to solve their most critical problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.

  • 1+ year of Object Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience demonstrating software engineering skills in previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications, or managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience working with fast‑moving, high‑performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment similar to a high‑tech start‑up.
