- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- 5 years of experience with serverless computing concepts and technologies on public cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, App Engine, Kubernetes).
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Experience with API design, multi-tenancy, containerization, and security in cloud environments.
- Experience in infrastructure for AI workloads.
- Ability to contribute to open-source Serverless projects (e.g., Knative).
We are developing next-generation technologies that handle information at massive scale. As a software engineer, you will work on a critical project for Google Cloud Platform’s Serverless platform, Cloud Run, focusing on the data plane to support evolving AI workloads and agents. You will collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define long-term goals for platform modernization and sustainability, and drive operational excellence by improving platform health.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
- Oversee architectural strategy and rollout of core back-end services for Cloud Run, primarily emphasizing the data plane to support the evolving needs of AI workloads and agents.
- Collaborate with executive product and engineering leadership to define and realize a long-term goal for stack modernization and platform sustainability.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying and executing systematic enhancements to platform health.
US: $262000 - $365000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits
