Sr Software Engineer – Wired Assurance
This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job DescriptionThe Wired Assurance engineering team builds highly scalable, cloud‑native applications that deliver automation, visibility, and AIOps to enterprise and service provider networks by integrating telemetry with real‑time analytics in the cloud. In this role you will solve challenging architectural problems in distributed systems, deliver features that power mission‑critical networks, and help build a world‑class SaaS solution.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain features for the cloud‑native Wired Assurance platform.
- Analyze requirements and propose scalable, reliable, fault‑tolerant software designs.
- Contribute to the development of multi‑tenant, cloud‑based SaaS solutions.
- Develop software using Python, Java, and/or Go.
- Implement and improve observability using metrics, structured logging, and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including QA, PM, architecture, and support.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement.
- Investigate customer‑reported issues and provide detailed root‑cause analysis and resolutions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, or Apache Storm.
- Familiarity with databases like Redis, Cassandra, or MySQL.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly self‑motivated, proactive, and results‑driven.
- Background in networking domains such as enterprise switching, routing, or service provider infrastructure.
- Experience working on cloud AIOps, telemetry pipelines, or large‑scale distributed systems.

SalaryUnited States – Annual Salary USD 136,500 – 276,500 in California. The listed salary range reflects base salary; variable incentives may also be offered.
