Software Engineer, Networking & C/C++

Hybrid role; expects 2 days per week from an HPE office.

HPE’s PTX Series Routers Packet Forwarding team develops software that forwards data packets across high‑performance routers and switches worldwide, supporting public cloud, service provider, and mobile networks.

• Architect & develop Packet Forwarding Features for PTX Series Routers: IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, Multicast, GRE, LAG and tunneling features.
• Work with Product Line Managers to understand features and translate requirements into implementation.
• Collaborate with Test Teams to qualify and deliver high-quality products.
• Engage with customers and participate in industry forums.
• Maintain and sustain existing features.

• BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of work experience; MS degree a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience with C programming.
• At least 2 years of experience with C++ programming.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and operating systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux and Python.
