What you'll do...

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and build enterprise-scale Marketplace platforms supporting Seller Risk. This role is backend-heavy, with strong expectations for Java-based distributed systems, while also providing technical leadership for React-based front-end applications. You will operate as a senior technical leader, driving architecture, system design, and engineering excellence across the full stack. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.No visa sponsorship available now or in the future

Key Responsibilities

* Architect and develop highly scalable backend services using Java and Spring/Spring Boot

* Design distributed systems supporting marketplace workflows and real-time transactions

* Build event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka

* Develop and maintain React + Type Script front-end applications

* Define API contracts (REST / GraphQL) between front-end and backend services

* Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability

* Drive technical standards for coding, testing, CI/CD, and observability

* Partner with product, UX, data, and platform teams

* Mentor engineers and lead design and code reviews

Required Qualifications

* 12+ years of professional software engineering experience

* Strong expertise in Java and backend development

* Experience building distributed, microservices-based systems

* Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event streaming

* Experience with React and modern front-end development

* Strong knowledge of Type Script, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS

* Experience designing and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs

* Solid understanding of system design, concurrency, and data modeling

* Experience with SQL and No

Preferred Qualifications

* Marketplace, e-commerce, or large-scale platform experience

* Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Flink)

* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

* Experience with Kubernetes and Docker

* Experience with micro-frontend architectures

* Familiarity with AI/ML integration and data-driven systems

* Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

* Strong understanding of security and data privacy best practices

Uses data-driven engineering practices to define and track success metrics, optimize development processes, and maintain engineering excellence.

Engineering Excellence:

Contributes to API design and software prototyping to validate technical solutions and gather early feedback.

Facilitates correction-of-error review processes to continuously improve code quality and reduce defect recurrence.

Stays current with industry trends and contributes to engineering thought leadership through documentation, tool evaluations, and internal knowledge sharing.

Technical Ownership:

Demonstrates responsibility for deliverables, ensuring solutions meet quality standards and business objectives.

Takes initiative to resolve issues and drive projects to completion.
