Salary and CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $90,000 and $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

- Design enterprise grade application architectures using Springboot microservices and Java based full stack components that support high volume commerce transactions and robust business workflows.
- Define and document end‑to‑end service boundaries, domain models and integration patterns that enable modular, scalable and maintainable microservice ecosystems.
- Guide development teams on clean coding practices, reusable component design and effective use of Java frameworks to improve reliability and speed of delivery.
- Establish non‑functional requirements including performance, resilience, observability and security for commerce platforms and ensure they are consistently implemented across services.
- Review solution designs and implementation approaches to confirm alignment with enterprise standards, architectural guidelines and long‑term technology strategy.
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate commerce requirements into technical designs that balance customer experience with operational efficiency.
- Create reference implementations and architectural blueprints that demonstrate recommended patterns for Springboot microservices, API contracts and data access layers.
- Optimize service‑to‑service communication, data caching strategies and database interactions to reduce latency and improve throughput for critical commerce journeys.
- Evaluate and select suitable tools for logging, metrics, tracing and automated testing to strengthen platform observability and operational excellence.
- Partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to embed secure coding practices, identity and access controls and data protection mechanisms within the solution design.
- Provide technical guidance during code reviews, defect resolution and performance tuning to resolve complex issues and reduce production incidents.
- Support hybrid work collaboration by using digital tools, clear documentation and regular technical forums to keep distributed teams aligned on architectural direction.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by assessing emerging Java and cloud technologies and recommending practical enhancements that improve developer productivity and platform stability.
- Demonstrate extensive hands‑on experience designing and delivering Springboot based microservices architectures for large‑scale transactional systems with at least ten years in enterprise software development.
- Exhibit strong proficiency in Java full‑stack engineering for commerce solutions, including server‑side development, API design and integration with modern web user interfaces.
- Apply solid knowledge of software engineering best practices including version control, automated testing, continuous integration and secure development techniques.
- Bring practical experience working in hybrid delivery models using agile methodologies and collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams across locations.
- Show proven ability to analyze complex functional and technical requirements and convert them into clear architectural views, sequence diagrams and implementation roadmaps.
- Display familiarity with relational and non‑relational data stores, message‑based integration and caching solutions commonly used in modern commerce platforms.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to explain architectural decisions and trade‑offs to both technical professionals and non‑technical stakeholders.
