Join us at the heart of Apple’s security ecosystem! JMET develops custom server‑side security solutions that enable Apple to meet the security and privacy objectives for all products. Our services are responsible for establishing hardware root of trust, system and module provisioning and certification, secure software update, and secure repair initiatives, to name a few. Every product that we manufacture, minus soft goods, interacts with one or more JMET services during its lifecycle.
DescriptionWe are looking for a proficient Security Server Application Engineer to join a new project team and work on our next exciting initiative. The ideal candidate is a strong programmer with a demonstrated track record of working on mission‑critical security systems. This role involves a blend of technical acumen and collaborative skills, as you’ll work with a diverse set of cross‑functional teams.
The role also requires the candidate to provide operational support and occasional travel when needed.
- Lead and develop large‑scale security services as a server‑side programmer. Demonstrate a passion for security, development excellence, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to mentor engineering teammates.
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience in the U.S., shipping critical deliverables.
- Proficiency in Java and Swift or other object‑oriented languages and accompanying frameworks.
- Solid understanding of cryptographic primitives such as PKI, ASN.
1, X.509, authentication protocols, key‑exchange protocols, and post‑quantum cryptography algorithms. - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of designing, leading, and shipping mission‑critical security services in Java or Swift that run at a global scale.
- Experience leading large cross‑functional teams for mission‑critical initiatives.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting large‑scale security systems that are in production today.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership and executives, with the ability to read the room and represent the project team appropriately.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop in the role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
