Overview

Software Development Engineer, Device Advertising – part of Amazon’s advertising software team focused on ads on Alexa devices. This role offers a creative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with opportunities to innovate, experiment with new ideas, and optimize experiences for customers at scale.

• Own and deliver MVP features across the tech stack, including services, big data, Android programming, UI, and backend components.
• Design scalable systems to support millions of users and maintain high-quality, robust software.
• Collaborate across device software, backend services, device and server UI, and data pipelines to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Balance speed of execution with long-term architectural considerations and customer experience goals.
• Contribute to an entirely product-focused team and drive initiatives that move the advertising program forward.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 2+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, operations)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
