Staff Engineer - Cloud Security

Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python (Golang a plus)) Hybrid: 2 days in office / week in Sunnyvale, CA

• Develop containerized microservices for a distributed, multi‑tenant system that processes data and real‑time events and network telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real‑time insights and security recommendations to customers.
• Design services, architect solutions, defend designs, and deliver robust implementations.
• Mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns.
• Work primarily with Go, SQL, Kubernetes, and data pipelines.
• Own critical features and subsystems throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Own operational aspects of the system, ensuring supportability and delivery.
• Ensure code quality through early automated tests and integration testing.
• Partner with Product Management to review and refine requirements.
• Develop deep understanding of customer needs through stakeholder interaction.

• 8+ years building distributed and scalable software and systems.
• Extensive experience with Go and SQL.
• Strong background in networking and security controls, including TCP/IP.
• Cloud experience in Azure or AWS, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure provisioning (e.g., Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible).
• Ability to design, implement, and maintain containerized services on Kubernetes.
• Experience building and deploying APIs.
• Experience with data pipelines.
• Passion for software development, continuous learning, and team collaboration.
• Experience with technologies related to Zero Trust segmentation is a plus.
