• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience deploying and managing machine learning models on cloud-based AI platforms.

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with Go, SQL, C++ and Python.

The Detections team is a foundational component responsible for collecting telemetry from customers and identifying threats at unparalleled speed and scale. The stack includes a rules engine that operates at the speed of search, a rules language for custom detection management, and a regular stream of built‑in rules and indicators, built by Google's security research team.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147,000 - $211,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

• Write product or system development code.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Implement solutions in one or more specialized ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
• Build and launch customer‑facing security solutions in one of Google's biggest growth areas.
• Work on a Google‑scale real‑time system performing complex analysis of huge amounts of data instantaneously. Be on the cutting edge of security threat detection and analysis.
