Role summary:

As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through coding, testing, and deployment while ensuring adherence to quality and security standards.

You will also provide technical guidance to small engineering teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that drive innovation and operational excellence.

The Marketplace Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech pioneers innovation in global commerce through the Walmart Marketplace platform. This team develops advanced tools that enable thousands of sellers to efficiently manage digital storefronts, pricing, and inventory while delivering excellent customer experiences. They design intelligent, resilient systems covering the entire seller lifecycle and integrate with partner platforms across Walmart's ecosystem. Emphasizing scalable, data-driven solutions, the team applies expertise in software design, cloud-native architecture, and Dev Ops to provide reliable services that empower sellers and enhance shopping for millions worldwide.

What you'll do:

* Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to define high-level designs for small to medium projects.

* Analyze and troubleshoot production issues by performing root cause analysis and developing effective solutions.

* Translate project requirements into technical designs, write code, and conduct unit testing to ensure quality delivery.

* Manage complex projects by coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring timely completion and hand-offs.

* Provide technical guidance and support to users and junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.

* Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and application monitoring.

* Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and performance requirements.

What you'll bring:

* Proven experience in software design, development, and debugging using object-oriented programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C#.

* Strong technical acumen with expertise in API design, platform development, and component services.

* Demonstrated ability to deliver iterative and incremental development with continuous integration and deployment practices.

* Proficiency in root cause analysis, defect management, and troubleshooting complex software issues.

* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience to translate requirements into technical solutions.

* Knowledge of coding standards, security policies, and telemetry implementation for scalable, maintainable applications.

* Ability to mentor and guide small engineering teams while managing project deliverables and timelines.
