About the Opportunity

We're looking for a Software Development Engineer to help build a modern AI-powered platform from the ground up. This role combines traditional software engineering with applied AI, where you'll design scalable backend systems while building and optimizing LLM-powered workflows for production use.

You'll join a small, fast-moving engineering team, own features end-to-end, and work on challenging problems involving distributed systems, APIs, integrations, and AI applications.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.
• Build agentic workflows using LLMs, including prompt engineering, tool/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), context management, and structured outputs.
• Develop evaluation frameworks, guardrails, monitoring, and observability to improve AI system reliability and performance.
• Integrate with external enterprise systems using production-grade error handling and scalable architectures.
• Own features from design through deployment, testing, and iteration based on user feedback.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help build scalable platform infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, system design, API design, databases, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Python, Type Script/Node.js, or Go.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, RAG, and evaluation of model outputs.
• Ability to work independently, solve ambiguous problems, and deliver high-quality software.
• Strong product mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience building conversational AI, voice AI, or multi-agent systems.
• Familiarity with testing and evaluating non-deterministic AI systems.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms and third-party systems.
• Startup experience with a bias toward ownership and rapid execution.
