About the team:

The Walmart Translation Platform team develops advanced neural network-based translation solutions focused on accuracy and fluency. The team addresses large-scale data challenges using innovative machine learning, information retrieval, and ranking algorithms to deliver reliable, low-latency services aligned with business goals. Utilizing cloud-native architecture and software design patterns, the team builds scalable, resilient systems. Collaboration drives continuous improvement, technical excellence, and data-driven decision-making, enhancing platform capabilities and engineering productivity.

The team emphasizes innovation, quality delivery, and maintaining high system performance to support Walmart’s strategic objectives.

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, & agile systems.
• Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
• Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to support automation and intelligent features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics using data-driven practices.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and products by embracing innovation and adapting to change.

• Proven experience in software development with strong proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation for scalable and resilient systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design reviews and apply software design patterns to ensure maintainable and modular solutions.
• Skilled in API design, software prototyping, and Dev Ops engineering to enhance development productivity.
• Strong data-driven decision-making skills to define metrics and optimize engineering processes.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions to promote engineering excellence.
• Ability to manage full software lifecycle including CI/CD deployment, observability, and maintenance.
