- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++ or Go, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 1 year of experience with one or more of the following:
Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field. - 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Experience building scale AI and ML platforms.

The Google Unified and Security Operations organization (GUSTO), is a vital pillar of Google Cloud Security, operating at the absolute forefront of global threat defense. We don't just defend the perimeter; we actively shape the future of cloud security enterprise products.
In this role, your mission is to arm enterprises such as global banks, critical security firms, and sovereign governments with the tools they need to detect, investigate, and neutralize cyber threats at an unprecedented scale. When the world's most targeted organizations need to secure their infrastructure, they rely on GUSTO.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $147000 - $211000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Write product or system development code.
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Implement solutions in one or more specialized ML areas, utilize ML infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
- Build and launch customer facing security solutions in one of Google's biggest growth areas, while working on the cutting edge of security threat detection and analysis.
- Work on a Google Scale real time systems performing complex analysis of huge amounts of data instantaneously.
