Days onsite in Sunnyvale, CA. Relocation is okay. Only people that do not need sponsorship now or in the future I can consider. Salary band is 150-200k, there is a performance bonus, RSUs, and full benefits. Referral to you is 5k. 3 round virtual interview process. Looking for MERN Full stacks, needs to have held a staff level job in the past.

Position Summary

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of our next-generation web applications. You will work on massive-scale systems that power Walmart’s e-commerce and retail platforms. You will collaborate with product, data science, and design teams to build high-performance tools and services used by millions of people.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect Systems:
  Design and build scalable full-stack web applications using React, Node.js, and GraphQL.
• Lead Strategy:
  Set the technical direction for front-end architecture, API design, and data orchestration layers.
• Optimize Performance:
  Ensure applications are highly responsive, accessible, and optimized for maximum speed and scalability.
• Mentor Engineers:
  Guide and coach mid-level and senior engineers through code reviews, design docs, and technical pairing.

  Partner with product managers and UX designers to turn complex business requirements into clean, functional code.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Frontend Mastery:
  Deep expertise in React, Type Script, state management, and modern bundlers.
• Backend Expertise:
  Strong background building scalable services and microservices using Node.js.
• API Design:
  Proven success designing and implementing high-throughput GraphQL APIs, schemas, and resolvers.
• Data Integration:
  Comfort working with relational and non-relational databases, caching layers, and event-driven data streams.
• Cloud & Dev Ops:
  Familiarity with cloud platforms (like Microsoft Azure or GCP) and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for tackling complex, ambiguous technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical ideas to non-technical partners.
