AI engineer

Robotics Technologies is looking for an AI engineer to design, build, and deploy conversational AI systems for digital customer engagement. This onsite role in Sunnyvale, CA focuses on scalable chatbot frameworks on Google Cloud
, leveraging Vertex AI
, CCAI
, and Dialogflow capabilities to improve real-world interactions.

The position centers on end-to-end development, from NLP and GenAI modeling through production-grade deployment and integration. The role is well-suited to engineers with strong software and ML/NLP depth, plus practical MLOps experience for reliable chatbot operations.

• Architect, design, and develop scalable chat Virtual Agent frameworks on Vertex AI
  , including experience with Vertex AI Agent Engine and the Google Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Build, customize, and optimize conversational bots using Dialogflow CX/ES
  , including advanced intent detection
  , context management
  , slot filling
  , and rich fulfillment
  .
• Apply state-of-the-art NLP
  , LLM
  , and GenAI models on Vertex AI to strengthen chatbot capabilities, such as complex intent handling,
  summarization
  , entity extraction
  , and response generation
  .
• Develop and maintain cloud-native chat Virtual Agent solutions using GCP services including CCAI
  , Pub/Sub
  , Cloud Functions
  , Cloud Run
  , Cloud Storage
  , and Big Query for real-time processing, analytics, and reporting.
• Train, fine-tune, and deploy custom LLMs
  , transformer models
  , and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to improve agent intelligence.
• Use MLOps best practices for chatbot pipelines, including automation of training, deployment, testing, monitoring, and versioning with Vertex AI Pipelines
  , Docker
  , Kubernetes
  , and CI/CD
  .
• Develop REST APIs
  , gRPC
  , and JSON-based communication to integrate the chatbot with other systems.

• 6+ years in software development, including 4+ years in NLP/NLU for chat
  .
• Advanced Python skills, plus experience using ML/NLP libraries such as Hugging Face
  , Tensor Flow
  , and Py Torch .
• Proven experience building conversational agents with Vertex AI and Dialogflow CX/ES
  .
• Proficiency with GCP services and cloud-native architectures.
• Solid MLOps understanding, including Docker

  , CI/CD

  .
• Experience with Agent Assist is a plus

• Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field.
• GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified Professional ML Engineer).

• Knowledge of security and compliance in chat AI.
